Development of Computational Grids has been based on the philosophy of Electrical Power Grids. The idea is to dynamically aggregate enough resources for the completion of a job submitted by the user (just as you're always able to listen to that favorite Pink Floyd album indifferent to the fact that a couple of power stations that supply power to your Power Grid may have failed). Resource Brokers such as Nimrod-G are able to do this resource aggregation part. But, it is to be remembered, that the concept and implementation of Computational Grids is still in it's infancy. The interface to Electrical Power Grids, the power line provided to the house is much simpler than the elaborate procedure (Authentication, proxy generation, resource brokerage ) required to access Computational Grids. Computational Grids have to go a long way to achieve this ease of use.
